Interfacing is where devices need to communicate with one another (e.g. PC sending a job to the printer) - they have to interface with each other.
Interfacing can be seen as one device communicating with another device.

In order for communication to occur (interfacing), computers must have drivers installed on them, to ensure the devices and computers can be understood by each other.
A driver is a piece of software that ensures that all devices can be understood by the computer and that the computer can be understood by the devices.

One aspect of interfacing is that devices have to engage into a process known as handshaking.
Handshaking is the process where system signals are used to check that each device is ready to send and/or receive signals.
