What are the four stages of Piaget's theory of intellectual development?
Sensorimotor 0-2 years, Pre-operational 2-7 years, Concrete Operational 7-11 years and Formal Operational 12+ years.

What happens during the Sensorimotor stage?
An infant knows the world because of their movement and their experiences with their senses. You explore everywhere when you are at this age and use sensory contact to create an understanding of what things are.

What happens during the Pre-operational stage?
Children are hypoactive and have loads of energy. Children have a creative imagination and start to pretend to do things.

What happens during the Concrete operational stage?
Children start to use their logic. They start to understand the concept of conservation and the feelings of others.

What happens during the Formal operational stage?
They consider other people and understand that it is not just about themselves. This is the final stage of Piaget's theory.

Piaget has a theory and according to this the schema is a category of knowledge as well as the process of acquiring knowledge.

Hannah who is 6 years old was going out with her mum and dad and seen a homeless man in the shelter of a shop and didnt know what he was doing. She asked why he was there and her dad said its his house. She thought a house had windows and a bed.
