What does the Deprivation (DEP) model state?
This model states that it is the prison setting itself that causes the increased AB. Factors such as the experience of prison (stress) and 'pains of imprisonment' (e.g freedom loss)

States there is a curvilinear relationship between the levels of crowding in institutions and tendency to exhibit AB.

Describe the Inverted-U Hypothesis further?
As the levels of crowding increase, so does freq. of AB, but only up to an 'optimum' point, after which any further crowding leads to a decrease in AB.
