What causes infectious disease?
Infectious diseases are caused by parasitic microorganisms that infect you these disease causing microorganisms are called pathogens.

The invading pathogen may cause damage to cells and may also release chemicals called toxins.

A parasite lives in the body and takes nutrients and shelters, whereas a pathogen causes disease, through cell damage and toxins.

The incidence of a disease is the rate at which new cases occur in a population.

What is a Vector?
A vector is an organism that does not cause disease itself but spreads infection by moving pathogens from one host to another.

What are antibiotics?
Antibiotics are chemicals produced by some bacteria or fungi that prevent the growth or kill other bacteria or fungi.

Why do antibiotics have to be used carefully?
If antibiotics are not used carefully resistant strains of bacteria develop.
