Parellel running
New system and old system are used side by side - old system turned off only once the new system is fully functional. (Safest option)

Pilot changeover
Works for large companies. System is rolled out in a subsection and after all faults have been fixed it is released to the whole company.

Direct changeover
Immediate change - Best suited when the old system is critically misfunctional (Working very poorly). (Riskiest option)

Phase changeover
Slow change from old to new, releasing system in parts. Minor problems are worked around but major problems reschedule the roll out (phase model).
