Imagination because community members imagine they are alike

The collapse of the Soviet bloc made socialism collapse, so there was a war to create a majority where there wasn't a majority before

In 1985 10.8% of people saw themselves as Yugoslav but as the war went on, people were forced to see themselves as an ethnicity so in 1996 on 0.5% of people saw themselves as Yugoslav

An attempt to fill 'non-majority' spaces

What was the problem with identity in the Kosovo war?
There were many different identities in Kosovo who didn't fit into the war between the Serbs and the Albanian Muslims so they were not represented during the war. And the solution of the government made up of Serbs, Croats and Muslim is the same
