Ethernet Cable
A Ethernet cable is the original method for connecting computers. The cable is connected to the computers network interface cards by plugs.

A Network allows computers to connect to the Internet wirelessly either in a household or in a local area. A local network is called a LAN (Local Area Network)

Wireless networks allow computers to communicate by radio or microwaves if they have wireless network cards installed (WiFi)

Powerline is another way of creating a home network, this uses the existing mains power circuits in the house for data transmission.

A wireless router is used to connect all the computers in a network to the modem. It is possible to have a mixed cable/wireless network.

A wide area network (WAN) is a network that covers a broad area of land.

ISP (Internet Service Provider) has many different aspects. For instance, Cost, Speed, Download limits and Storage.

A computer network passes data from one computer to another. It does this by using physical cables of some kind.

Wireless Network
An alternative to setting up a network with copper or fibre cable is wireless. The bandwidth of a wireless network is lower than a physical network.
