What is skills-based training?
Training based on learning a skill. (EG: how to use Microsoft Access.) Teach trainees how to use facilities according to their current skill level. Provides an individual with skills that are transferrable.

What is task-based training?
Training based on learning how to do a particular task. EG: How to use a PDA. More likely to take place in-house because it is for a specific task.

Explain Face-to-face / instructor led training
Formal training with an instructor training a group of trainees. Popular but expensive - trainer can answer questions plus provide help and feedback, although has to be planned in advance. Provided by on-the-job training / in-house / external course.

What is E-learning?
Means using electronic methods to teach a trainee. Include online tutorials, on-screen help and interactive videos. Means trainees can learn where and when they wish, and can learn specifically to their needs. Inexpensive, does not disrupt work

Explain training in the form of paper-based materials?
Can offer software manual, books and training manuals.
