Data is raw facts and figures any alphanumeric character values that on their own have no meaning

Limited source, no risk of virus, not necessarily up to date

Returns wide range of results, not always accurate, virus danger

What is meant by coding data?
This is changing the original data into a shortened version in order to store it in the computer

Less storage space required. E.g. Mon, Tue, Wed - A limited number of codes exists aiding in validation of input

What are the drawbacks of coding data?
Precision/quality of data can be lost - The user needs to know the codes utilised

Hardware, Software, Workers, Consumables, Training
