As th North hemisphere is tilted towards the sun as it orbits. so the ITCZ went directly over the tropic of cancer, so the sea areas in the tropics intensly heated (absorbed energy).

Evaporation then transfered the heat from ocean to air and this caused the thunderstorms, which grew into a hurricane.
