Use satellites to monitor snow and ice cover, use satellites to measure temperature of the sea surface and weather stations that record atmospheric temperature

It covers a wide enough area, has a long enough time scale and lots of scientists have got the same results using different methods

Sewage, fertiliser or toxic chemicals

With smoke and gases such as sulfur dioxide we can create acid rain
