To a certain extent: Roaring Twenties
The age of consumerism, which lasted up until late 1929. This is because the country was lead by republican policies. Additionally, there was a rise in industry, like white goods, music and lifestyle, like the Harlem Renaissance.

Film and media also boomed, with stars rising and becoming almost idols, which was the start of the modern celebrity. This also changed how people acted, with propaganda and out-there views both being shown, which influenced people’s views.

how women were perceived and the jobs they could do. After the war, they were able to work, and this increased by 25 percent. In 1920 they could all vote. The rise of ‘flappers’. They stopped wearing conservative clothes and had more free time.

It didn't change: Prohibition
The 18th Amendment, was introduced in January of 1920, due to moral, religious and practical reasons. However, this showed how the government didn’t follow the views of most youths. Caused a large amount of crime, bootleggers, gangs, speakeasies.

The fear of immigrants, especially communist ones. Industrial unrest happened in 1919 when 100,000 members of the Boston police force went on strike – the communists were blamed for this too. There was also the Palmer Raids.

The KKK was a group of radicals who believed that all people who were not white, christian americans should be ridded off. This is most notably true for African-Americans. There was pro-KKK propaganda shown in popular films, and people were lynched.
