Where you eat/ drink something opposite to your condition. e.g If you are hot you should eat something cold

The theory of the four humours (Hippocrates)
There are four humours, black bile, yellow bile, blood and phlegm. When these four humours are no longer balanced in your body, you become ill and have to balance them to recover. e.g if you had too much blood, doctors would bleed you.

The channel theory (Egyptians)
Based on irrigation ditches used in fields near the river Nile. It was believed that there were channels inside your body, if these channels got blocked you became ill. This was the first natural explanation for disease.
