What is meant by the term 'November Criminals'
The name Hitler called the politicians who signed the armistrice: he claimed that this was a betrayal and that Germany could have won the war. these politicians who formed the Weimar Government.

A communist group who tried to take control of Germany during 1918-1919; this caused alot of fear amongst the middle classes.

Germnay's leading politicians signed an armistice on 11th of November 1918. This ended the war, bringing defeat to Germany.

The treaty was called this as Germans felt Germany had been forced into signing the Treaty.

Some Germans thought the Weimar government had betrayed Germany by signing the treaty.

What were the main things in the treaty that affected Germany?
War guilt. Reparations - Germany had to pay for this damage, £6.6 million. Germany had to supply free coal aswell to France, Belgium and Italy. Disarmament - German army reduced to 100,000 men.Loss of territory.Germany couldn't join League of Nations

What putsch's took place during 1920-1923?
The Kapp Putsch - a nationalist uprising which wanted to overthrow the government and bring back the Kaiser. Communist Uprising - this uprising failed but made the middle classes in particular even more fearful of Communism. The Munich Putsch.
