What is the L in Lamb?
Land: Germany lost 13% of its land. Alsace-Lorraine returned to France, West Prussia and Posen lost to Poland amongst others. This lost six million of its people. Germany also lost its overseas colonies.

Army: They weren't aloud to use air force. They were limited to 100,00 men. The navy were limited to 15,000. Only aloud 6 battle ships

What is the M in Lamb?
Money: Treaty took away from Germany around 10% of its industry and 15% of its agricultural land. This impacted the Germans as they were doubtful whether Germany could afford this. They had to pay £6600 million back. Germany was bankrupt.

‘War Guilt Clause’ – Article 231 of the Treaty said that Germany was to blame for causing the War. Germany had to accept responsibility for starting WWI. All Germans feel angry about this.Blame:

Why was the Weimar government weak?
The constitution shared out power. But this made the chancellors weak. They had to rely on coalitions of small parties to get a majority in the Reichstag.

What happened when the French occupied the Ruhr?
When germany could not pay back its reparations they took raw materials, industrial machines and manufactured goods. The ruhr contained about 80% of Germany coal, iron and steel production and most of their factories.

What were the economic problems?
The Weimar government was bankrupt. Germany's gold reserves had been spent on the war. The income was drained by reparation payments.

Hyperinflation meant that Germany money became worthless. All prices of basic stuff became to expensive

The new Weimar government was blamed for the Versailles and the economic problems.

What was there a political unrest about?
There was a political unrest aver the Versailles and the economic problems led to frequent strikes and protests. There were 367 political murders between 1919 and 1922.

What was the Spartacists?
A communist group. Which led a huge uprising in Berlin in 1919. They wanted workers' councils to run the country. The government ended the revolt violently, using Freikorps.

What was the Kapp Putsch?
The Kapp Putsch led by Wolfgang Kapp, was a right-wing revolt to get the kaiser back into power. The revolt failed.

What was the Dawes plan?
The dawes plan was aggred by Stressmann and Dawes, a US banker, reduced Germany's reparation payment sand arranged for he US banks to invest in German industry. It improved.

What did the young plan do?
Further reduced reparations from £6.6 billion to £2 billion and gave Germany 59 year to pay them off.

What was the Wall street crash?
Sales of german exports fell, causing bankrupsies, unemplyment rose from 1 million to 5 million byt 1932. This caused political unrest. Voters turned against the Weimar republic again.
