Germany was split into four zones (British, French, Soviet and America).

USA because they seemed to be the fairest country. Also, GB would be pleased with what they got out of it.

Leaders met again after Germany had been defeated.

What changes were there at the Potsdam Conference?
Roosevelt died soon after the Yalta Conference. Roosevelt was replaced with Harry Truman. Potsdam signaled the end on the Big Three. Churchill was replaced by Clement Attlee because of general election.

Why was Roosevelt so annoyed with Stalin?
Because he broke all of his promises made at Yalta.

The policy introduced by Truman to try and contain the spread of communism.

Introduced by Winston Churchill to describe a division between Western powers and the area controlled by Soviet Union.

Policy introduced by Truman. USA would support Greece and Turkey with aid to prevent them from becoming Communist.

Describe the Marshall Plan.
Large scale american program to aid Europe. USA gave monetary support to help rebuild European economics.

First international crisis of Cold War. Stalin tried to prevent USA giving aid to Berlin.

Keen to receive it. European leaders met at Paris conference in 1948 to discuss the American offer.
