Treaty of St Germain
1919 Austria. Separated Austria from Hungary. Created Czechoslavakia and Yu go slave into new states. Army restriction to 30,000. Forbidden Anschluss with Germany

How was the Treaty of Versailles fair?
Germany would have treated his allies worse. It only took 15% of Germany land away from them.

How was the Treaty of Versailles unfair?
Germany were forced to disarm, only 100,000 men, no conscription, six battleships no summaries or airforce. Rhinestone was demilitarised, meaning the were vulnerable and open for attack.

The Aaland Islands
Sweden and Finland in 1921 both wanted the islands and were ready tofight for them so they both appealed to theLeague of Nations. League decided Finland should have them and Sweden accepted and war was prevented.

Social problems
International Labour Oranisation set up to controlamount of hours people worked and outlaw child labour, as well as aiming to improve working conditions. Closed 4 Swiss companies for selling illegal drugs.

Slavery commisions set up investigating and outlawed slavery allover the world. Freed 200,000 slaves in Sierra Leone. Refugee commissions enabled refugees to get back home after ww1. Tried find cures for malaria, leprosy and yellow fever.

Upper Silesia
1921. Poland and Germany both wanted Upper Silesia. League held a plebiscite in March 1921 voted for Germany. League decided split area in half so Germany had more land and population and Poland had more of the industry. Both accepted.

Vilna
1920 Poland and Lithuania were two new states. Vilna was capital of Lithuania but was mainly polish. 1920 private Polish army took control of it. Lithuania appealed for help League asked them leave they said no and Frange and Britain did nothing

Corfu
1923 between Greece and Italy. August 1923 5 Italians working for the league were killed in Greece. Mussolini demanded compensation from Greece for their deaths. Greeks didn't pay so Mussolini took Corfu.

Corfu
League told Greece to give Mussolini compensation which then he would withdraw his troops. 27th September Mussolini withdrew from corfu.
