he was not brought up to rule, however he was smar and eager for money but not for himself, to help consolidate.

dating his reign from the day before the battle of bodsworth, publicly rewarded supporters, arranged coronation before parliament meeting, married elizabeth of york

pretenders: viscount lovell and the stafford's
both of these tried to raise a rebellion in york as they liked richard but didn't get much support and lovell escaped whilst stafford was executed

pretenders: lambert simnel
pretended he was the earl of warwick and was put together by john de la pole. henry had the real earl on display to show it was false and placed the earl of northumberland up north to neutralise the people who believed in it

pretenders: perkin warbeck
was around for 8 years, pretended to be richard, duke of york. he tried many times to rebel against him but they failed, he took advantage of other rebellions to help. he fled to margaret of burgundy but ended up being executed.

pretenders: de la pole brothers
these were the younger brothers of the earl of lincoln and had a stronger claim to the throne so posed as a big problem
