Brain Lateralisation (Strength - neural processing capacity)
Increases as leaves one hemisphere free to engage in another task e.g. left language and speech, right visuospatial tasks at same time

Brain Lateralisation (Rogers et al, 2004)
Chickens. Found BL associated w/ enhanced ability to perform 2 tasks at same time e.g. ability to find food but also remains alert for predators. Proves it works, but does not support that it provides efficiency in conducting cognitive tasks.

Found a relationship between people being left handed and having an immune system problem. Suggests process leading to lateralisation on a genetic level may also affect immune system

Some research suggests lateralisation of function changes w/ age and doesn't remain localised throughout life. Localised patterns observed in younger people appear to become bilateral across both hemispheres as people become older

Found language being localised to left hemisphere decreased w/ each decade of life after 25. Possible explanation for this is we begin to rely on right hemisphere more for extra processing as compensation for age-related decline in functioning

As other case studies have emerged of people being able to conduct tasks which should not be possible according to earlier findings. e.g. SBR suggests right hemisphere unable to handle language, but case studies shown not necessarily true

Argued conclusions drawn from individuals who've had their CC cut previously for SBR have usually had another physical disorder which may have a confounding variable/less complete sectioning of hemispheres than believed - results may be invalid
