What is "Promoting Quality Care"?

DEFINITION - Making sure that everyone has access to the services that they need and making sure that they do not experience discrimination.

LEGISLATIONS -

Children & Young People = Every Child Matters/Vulnerable Adults = POVA/People with Disabilities = Disability Discrimination Act/Men & Women = Sex Discrimination for Men & Women/Minority Ethnic Groups = Race Relations Acts.

Examples of Direct Discrimination -

Verbal abuse/Physical abuse/Different treatment (men being paid more than women)/Excluding an individual/Refusing to provide a service to an individual.

INDIRECT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION -

Uniform policies that do not allow religious employees to wear Turbans, headscarfs, etc...
