Define Health.
Health is Multi Dimensional- physical, mental, social, emotional, environmental, spiritual. (PESMES). It is the absence of disease and is influenced by lifestyle factors.

Define Ill Health
Both, short and long term. Ill health is the loss of physical or mental health. It can be caused by disease or by poor nutrition. Body cannot function properly without pain.

Define Disease.
Dianostic label given to a set of signs and symptoms. Affects fu nctioning of the body, e.g. Alzheimer's. Can result from injury, accident or infection.

Define Stress.
Tension, cannot cope in the environment, e.g. Work or Bereavement. Disturbance of physical and mental health. Can be short term or long term. Physical symptoms include high blood pressure and ulcers.

Define Stress Related Illness.
Illness brought on by stress. Examples include weight loss, nausea, anorexia, high blood pressure, depression, low immunity.

Define Mental Health.
Emotional wellbeing. Absence of mental illness. Sense of purpose and underlying belief in ones own worth. E.g. Feeling good and able to cope.

Define Mental Illness.
Describes behaviour generally regarded as abnormal within society and its particular roles. Examples include depression, manic depression, schizophrenia, dementia, phobias, ocd
