What is Chlamydia?
one of the most common sexually transmitted infections-> passed through unprotected sex.

What are the symptoms? women
pain urinating-> unusual discharge-> bleeding between periods-> heavier periods-> pain in lower abdomen-> PID

What are the symptoms? men
50% don't notice-> pain urinating-> discharge-> pain in testicles-> some symptoms dissapear between 2-3 days-> left untreated= orchitis, arthiritis, infertility.

What causes it?
unprotected vaginal,anal,oral sex-> genital to genital contact-> sharing sex toys. chlamydia trachomatis

What are the tests?
urine sample-> swab test-> swab of rectum/throat-> cervix/lower vagina-> urethra

Where can i get a test done?
sexual health clinic-> GUM-> GP-> most contraceptive clinics

What are the treatments?
azithromycin(single dose)-> doxycycline (2x a day for 1 week)-> side effects= stomach pain, diarrhoea, sick, thrush.
