between 1998 and 2004 the amount of sediment transported by the river below the dam fell by over 50%, resulting in increased erosion rates downstream. Sediment will accumulate behind the dam and this will enquire dredging

Afforestion is needed on the slope in the drainage basin, to reduce the amount of sediment washed into the water and the reservoir behind the dam

The dam will have a negative ecological and environment effect. Increased likelihood of landslidesin immediate area around the reservoir & many species, EG: White flag dolphin, will have their habitats disrupted
