Explain what the greenhouse effect is and why it is important for Earth.
Short wavelength radiation from the sun reflects off the earth in long wavelength radiation. The gases in the atmosphere absorb the radiation and heat up. It helps keep our planet warm enough to live.
1 of 7
List the 3 main greenhouse gases
Carbon dioxide,
Water vapour and
Methane
2 of 7
Describe how human activities are changing the levels of 2 greenhouse gases
Carbon Dioxide- Burning fossil fuels
Methane- Decomposing waste in landfill + cows
3 of 7
Why is it important to have peer reviewed evidence?
To ensure accuracy before any measures are taken
4 of 7
What is global warming?
The earth heating up from the greenhouse effect.
5 of 7
Why is it hard to model global warming?
As there is no way of ensuring that it will continue at a consistent rate.
6 of 7
Describe 4 possible outcomes of global warming
1. Rising sea levels
2. Extreme weather
3. Extinction of species
4. Change in rainfall
