Did the greeks have any knowledge of physiology?

That gods didn't cause illnesses.

An imbalance of the humours in the body, Asklepios.

how were illnesses treated?
going to the temple of Asklepios, treatment of opposites, natural substances e.g. garlic, doctors used physical observation , hippocrates books, programme for health.

what was the theory of the four humours?
The belief that illnesses were caused by humours in the body being out of balance.

yellow bile, black bile, blood and phlegm

What was Hippocrates known for?
Hippocratic oath, his books, he observed patients and wrote it down,

The father of modern medicine

Why was it significant that he observed patients and wrote his ideas down?
Because other doctors could use his ideas so more would survive
