The British Institute- Which operates a quality management system that organisations can be part of- The customer can then be assured of the quality and service

What is TQM?
Total Quality management- Aiming to achieve customer satisfaction by applying QA procedures to every stage of the process

The kite mark-
The mark of quality, it certifies that it complies with a particular standard.

CE marking-
Claims that the product meets the requirements of all relevant European Directives.

What is Testing to destruction
Where the product is destroyed under controlled conditions and monitored to gather valuable research data

What is Non-destructive Testing
Where the product is tested until it shows signs of failing

What is 100% inspection
Inspection of all units

What is Normal inspecion
Using a sampling plan under ordinary circumstances. E.g. every 1000th in 500,000 leaflets

What is CMM?
A mechanical system designed to move a measuring probe to determine the coordinates of points on the surface of a work piece.They are used to quickly and accurately measure the sizes and positions of features.

What is reduced inspection
Used for 24/7 runs that a lower quality, A visual check is sufficient

Quality Assurace
Is an assurance that the end product fulfils all of it's requirements for quality

Quality control
It involves the actual activities used by a manufacture to ensure a high-quality product is produced by means of inspection and testing.
