What is a performance goal?
Related to performance or technique- eg passing in netball - often short term

What is an outcome goal?
Related with an end result-win/loose/ eg- winning an individual game/tournament in netball or football. its often medium to long term

When doing goal setting what should you do?
pace yourself-dont do too much too soon, give yourself rewards, keep goals realistic and keep a record of your goals

What does specific mean-give an example
Your goals are narrowed down and not vague. If goals are clear and unambiguous they are more likely to be attained. Eg- to improve the serve technique in tennis is a specific goal

What does measurable mean-give an example
A way to know if you are getting better. It is important for monitoring and makes it accountable. Eg- eat five portions of fruit or veg every day is measurable

What does achievable/agreed mean-give an example
If your goal can be achieved. The sharing of a goal between parents, personal trainer, coach and performer can give a sense of teamwork. Eg- agree with your parents that you will give up smoking so that there is a shared goal tht u'll give up smoking

What does Realistic mean-give an example
Its when its realistic to that person,motivation will improve if goals can actually be reached-eg- an obes person starts exercising by going on short walks to start with which is a realistic goal.

What does Time bound mean-give an example
Having an end point-being able to achieve something by a certain time, slitting up goals into short term goals which are planned and progressive- eg- a hockey team has set a goal of at least drawing in the next game on saturday
