Name the first stage of the circulation cell?
1) Hot air at the equator rises 15 km into the atmosphere
1 of 5
Name the second stage of the circulation cell?
This air then cools and travels north and south to around 30 degrees of latitude, where it sinks.
2 of 5
Name the third stage of the circulation cell at the equator?
When the warm air rises it creates low pressure. Rising air cannot as much moisture and that is why it rains so much at the equator
3 of 5
How are some of the ocean currents powered?
atmospheric circulation cells
4 of 5
What is another way ocean currents can be powered?
density differences in the water temperature in salinity
