What is the definition of climate?
The average weather and conditions over a long period- usually 30 years
2 of 5
What is the effect of latitude?
It is how far you are from the equator, the closer you are to the equator the less land the sun has to heat up and the quicker the sun reaches the land and vice versa.
3 of 5
What is the effect of altitude?
Altitude is height above sea level, the higher up you are the colder it gets- generally the temperature decreases by 1 degree for every 100m travelled upwards.
4 of 5
What is the effect of distance from the sea?
The sea is a liquid and is less dense than solid land and it can be heated to a greater depth. This means that the sea takes much longer to heat up in summer than the land does. Once warmed the sea retains its heat longer and cools slower.
