Name the two different types of crust and explain the difference.
Continental and Oceanic. Continental carries land and oceanic carries water.

How do tectonic plates move?
Due to convection currents set up in the mantle. Hot material rises, cool material falls. This movement causes the plates to move over time.

What is the name given when two plates meet?
Plate boundary/Plate Margin.

What is a destructive plate boundary?
When a continental and oceanic plate move together and subduction occurs. The oceanic plate is forced under the continental plate as it is more dense. It melts into the mantle increasing the pressure causing violent volcanoes and earthquakes.

Give an example of landforms that can be caused due to destructive plate boundaries.
Oceanic Trench, Fold Mountains, Island Arcs and Strato Volcanoes.

What is an oceanic trench?
When two plates collide and one is subducted, the plate bends down into the mantle, forming a deep oceanic trench.

What are fold mountains and give an example of some?
The Andes - example. As a plate is subjected intense friction and pressure builds. When the pressure becomes too great, two plates will suddenly jolt thrusting upwards causing an earthquake.
