What is the definition of the biosphere?
The biosphere is the part of the earth's surface inhabited by living things.

Ecosystem- A unit made up of living things and their non-living environment. there may be reliance on each component in this system.

Biome- A biome is one component of the biosphere. A biome is a large scale ecosystem which may cover a huge area.

Temperature is the most important factor. It varies with seasons, affecting the length of growing seasons.

Meat: animals provide us with meat-speafic to different biomes. Fish: marine environments provide us with fish to eat. Wood: forests and biomes that contarm trees provides us with wood to use for resources.

What are 2 problems with deforestation?
Destroys forest habitats, endangering many forest-dwelling species. Causes atmospheric pollution-mostly carbon dioxide as forests are cleared by burning trees.

Logging for timber or paper manufacture. Agricultural expansion including palm oil production. Fire- intentional & accidental. Cattle ranching. Drug companies seeking new medicines.
