problems with Rostow's theory
it assumes that all countreis start at the same level of development, it doesn't consider the quality or quantity of a country's resources, population or climate.

DEPENDENCY THEORY:
the idea that developing countries can't develop becuase they are dependent on developed countries.

PROBLEMS WITH DEPENDENCY THEORY
it doesnt take into account of other factors that may limit development - such as natural disasters, lack of resources and conflict.
