Atypical Sex Chromosome Patterns
Any sex chromosome pattern that deviates from the **/XY formation and which tends to be associated with a distinct pattern of physical and psychological symtoms.

Klinefelter's Syndrome
A syndrome affecting males in which an individuals genotype has an extra X chromosome (XXY) characterised by a tall, thin physique, smal, infertile testes and enlarged breasts.

Turner's Syndrome
A chromosomal disorder in which affected women have only one X chromosome (XO), causing developmental problems and infertility.

An organised set of beliefs about the two sexes.

In-group Schemas
Formed from the attitudes and expectations about one's own gender.

Formed from the expeactations and attitudes of the opposite gender.

The process of acquiring the characteristics of the same sex-parent.

The incorporation of the same-sex parent into an individual's personality.

Gender Identity Disorder
A condition where by the external sexual characteristics of the body are perceived as the opposite to the psycholgical experience of oneself as male or female.
