Abduction:
Movement of the limb away from the centre line of the body, e.g. moving an arm or leg out to the side.

Movement of the limb towards the centre line of the body, e.g. moving your arm or leg back in from the side.

Increases the angle between two bones, e.g. straightening your leg at the knee.
