LAN
(Local area network) A network of computers connected over a small geographical area.

(Wide area network) A network in which the computers connected can be over a large geographical area.

Bus Topology
A network topology in which all of the various devices in the network are connected to a single cable or line (the backbone).

Star topology
A network topology in which all nodes are individually connected to a central connection point, like a hub or a switch.

A network topology in which device connections create a circular data path. Each networked device is connected to two others, like points on a circle.
