What is deviance?
Behaviors and emotions that are viewed as unacceptable.

To distinguish normal and abnormal behavior.

What are the factors when assesing deviance?
Culture, history, situation, age and gender.

what are the critiscisms of deviance.
The therapist may be influenced on whether they find the behavior shocking or upsetting. Also it is difficult to determine what social norms in general are.
