1. Call the recurring decimal n 2. Multiply the recurring decimal by 10 (/100 etc.) to shift the sequence to 10n 3. Subtract n from 10n (this makes all numbers after the decimal point 0) 4. This gives you 9n, so divide by 9 to solve the equation
