force and speed issues - physics

?
what is fuel economy?
reducing the speed of a vehicle reduces the amount of fuel it uses to travel a particular distance.
1 of 5
what may improve the fuel economy? eg
by reducing the air resistance and making the object more streamlined eg fitting a wind deflector
2 of 5
why does making the a vehicle more streamlined improve fuel economy?
less engine force and less power are needed to maintain s certain speed. less fuel is needed so costs reduced.
3 of 5
when a vehicle is travelling along a straight road at a steady speed what can you say about the engine force and the air resistance?
the vehicle is not accelerating so the resultant force is zero. the engine force and air resistance forces are balanced.
4 of 5
what is the effect of the speed of a vehicle on its stopping distance?
the faster the speed the greater the stopping distance
