What 5 key elements do you need to meet the healthy guidelines?

Why do you need to eat 5 a day?
It will provide the correct energy value for a child if you ensure that the portion size is correct. To make sure that you follow the eat well plate and the healthy eating pyramid.

Why you need to eat less salt?
Too much salt will increase your blood pressure. Make sure that you use a low salt alternative and use other seasonings and herbs.

Why do you need to eat more fibre?
Serve wholemeal bread and cereals as well as pasta. Use wholemeal flower if you are going to bake a cake, biscuits, pancakes etc.

Why do you need to eat less fat?
Choose lean cuts of meat and use vegetable fats and oil. It is important to use soya products as well.

Why do you need to eat less sugar?
Use sugar substitutes for puddings, cakes and biscuits, offer fresh fruit for dessert and eat more tin fruit in juice not syrup.
