It is used in excretion, in the blood, in sweating ,and in chemical reactions

It is used for insulation

They are used for energy; sugar carbs give it short term, whereas starchy carbs give it long term

What are vitamins and minerals used for?
Vitamins are needed for the body to work properly. Fat soluble vitamins are found in fatty foods and animal products. It is not necessary to eat those foods everyday as thebody stores them. Water soluble, however, can not be stored and are necessary.

Its suggests we should have more fruit and veg and carbs, a smaller amount of meat and dairy, and a tiny amount of fat

What is a balanced diet?
It means that you balance all the nutrients, not having more than you should/

What is the test for sugar?
Benedict solution turns from blue to yellow, green, or red in the presence of glucose

What is the test for fat?
Shake or crush the food to make it dissolve. Filter or dilute the food and ethanol mix so that you get a clear liquid (a solution of fat in ethanol). Add this to a test tube of water. A white (milk-like) emulsion indicates the presence of fats or oil

Buiret solution is a blue liquid that changes to purple when proteins are present

The iodine test is used to test for the presence of starch. It turns from red to blue/black.

Amylase is an enzyme that helps digest carbohydrates. It is made in the pancreas and the glands that make saliva.

It works best at body temperature, around 37 degrees Celsius
