(1) Cyto-trophoblast: Line Embryo (2) Syncytio-trophoblast: Erodes uterine wall, secretes hCG = Release of Oestrogen and Progesterone from the corpus luteum until the placenta takes over.

Gastrulation: Formation of brain, spinal cord and heart.
