What are the main features of the fluid mosaic model?
A bilayer of phospholipid molecules, various protein molecules; extrinsic proteins and intrinsic molecules.

A model made by Singer and Nicholson in 1972 to describe the structural features of the cell surface membrane

What is a glycolipid?
When phosphlipid molecules have a carbohydrate chain attached they are called glycolipids.

What is a glycoprotein?
When protein molecules have a carbohydrate chain attached they are called glycoproteins.

What is the division of labour?
Is when an mRNA copy of genetic material is made, assembled by ribosomes and rough ER, modified by golgi apparatus, secreted at membrane.

What is transpiration?
The loss of water by evaporation from aerial parts of the plant.
