What is a siderial day?
Time is takes for the earth to move 360 degrees on its axis

What is a solar day?
The time from noon on day 1 till noon on day 2 (24 hours)

What is a solar eclipse?
when the Earth passes in front of the sun to block out the light

What is a lunar eclipse?
As it orbits, the moon sometimes passes into the Earths shadow. The Earth blocks sunlight from the moon, so almost no light is reflected from the moon and it just seems to disapear.

What is line of right ascension?
When showing someone where a star is you have to give them an angle, the line of right ascension is the line between the angle you gave them and the star (Mr Fosters demo)

What is refraction?
Refraction is the change in direction of a wave due to transmission medium

Why is a triangular prism used to refract light?
Because, it refracts in a form of a spectrum.

What happens when light enters a more dense medium?
It slows down

What are converging lenses?
Converging (convex) thickness at the centre

What are diverging lenses?
Thinnest at the centre

Ray diagrams (inwards)
The rays of light are refracted inwards and meet at the focus point (converging lens)

The rays of light are refracted outwards, the power of the lens is measured in dioptres (diverging)
