Participants
16 detectives from the Robbery division in Dade County, Florida. Each had a minimum experience of 5 years in the division.

Procedure part 1
All participants recorded a selection of interviews for 4 months using the standard interview technique. 88 interviews recorded.

Procedure part 2
7 detectives then trained in the CI and the two groups then recorded interviews for another 7 months. The interviews from both groups were collated and analysed by a team at the uni of Cali.

Findings
47% more than they did pre-training. They also recorded 63% more compared to the non-CI trained detectives.

Conclusions.
The CI elicits significantly more information than the cognitive interview, with no loss of accuracy. It takes a little longer, but is more effective and easy to provide.
