What does the term essential fatty acids mean?
When we eat foods containing our body digests the fat molecules they contain and make new fatty acids and fat molecules specifically for our body to use, two fatty acids come ready made from the food we eat and are called essential fatty acids.

1)To provide a store of energy in the adipose tissue under the skin 2)To insulate the body from the cold and help it stay warm 3)To protect bones+tissue from damage by providing them with a protective fat cushion.4) For fat soluble vitamins A.D,E +K.

Because the body will use the store of energy from fat cells and won't replace it.
