Families
A group of people connected by blood, love or marriage. In Britain we have family diversity there are lots of types these include; nuclear families, extended families or reconstituted families etc. These are the main type in Britain.

Household
A household is any place where people live. Households might be family units but not always for example students may share a home (also known as student household) and many people live alone (single person household).

House husband
Stays at home to go roles that mainly women do e.g cleaning, cooking etc.

Breadwinner
The sole person of the family, also the financial supporter

Homemaker
Where the women stays at home to do domestic jobs and childcare

Triple shift
Where the women do the domestic jobs, childcare and their career

segregated conjugal roles
The separation of the roles e.g the men are the financial supporters and the women do domestic jobs

The domestic division of Labour
where the roles are shared unlike segregated roles

Where the men pick out the best jobs e.g childcare

Nuclear family
There are two nuclear families the traditional and modern

Traditional nuclear family
Parents with their biological children and where the roles were more segregated

Modern nuclear family
The couple could be cohabiting with their children or adopted children and where roles are more shared

Lone parent families
Single parent raising their biological children and is becoming more popular

Reconstituted families
A family in which one or both partners have a child in the previous relationship.

Extended families
This is where different generations related to each other by marriage or blood. When the family usually beyond the nuclear family is extended For example grandparents vertically and aunties uncles etc., horizontally

Same sex families
A gay or lesbian couple who live together. They have children either from adoption or surrogates

Democratic Families
A democratic family is when decisions between the families are made together and not by one person dictating what must allow what others do.
