Age
Younger people tend to take part in more in physical activities because they have more free time and more clubs are aimed at them, older people could have health problems meaning they cannot participate in more demanding activities.

Gender
Some activities such as football are thought of as male sports and others like netball are thought of as female sports, this puts the other gender off participating in these activities

Disability (negative)
They may be physically unable to participate or limits performance, lack of specialist facilities, not many teams/ lack of opportunity, lack of role models and coaches, limited access to facilities, transport , low self-esteem, discrimination, money

disability (positive)
Makes you more determined, gives you more self-esteem/ confidence, gives you more opportunities to play at a higher level, access to new/ different sports, directed to participate by doctors/family, Inspired by others, gives you purpose in life

Under-eating
Tire more easily, more prone to injury, embarrassed about your body, poor mental heath means you don't have the motivation to participate

Over Eating
Could lead to heart problems meaning you cannot participate, obesity means you don't have the energy to participate, self-conscious about your body, limited on the type of activity because of weight, not fit enough, laziness, lack of mobility/speed

Performance enhancing drugs (positive)
Play better, more strength/speed, more energy, recover faster, mask injury, increase red blood cells, calms/relaxes, speeds reations

performance enhancing drugs (negative)
High blood pressure, acne, more aggression, addiction, anxiety, depression, can lead to being banned, labelled as a cheat by others, affects gender characteristics, heart disease, kidney/ internal organ damage infertility
