Brushing
Fabric is passed through wire rollers which brush the fabric to leave it soft and fluffy

Calendering
Heated rollers press the surface of the fabric to compact it and give it shine

Flame Retardancy
Chemicals are applied to the yarn or fabric to slow down or prevent burning

Water Resistance
Silicon based chemicals are sprayed onto the fabric to give it a waterproof finish. This is renewable

Easy Care
Chemicals are added to the fabric to make it easier to wash and iron, make it crease resistant and stop it from shrinking

Heat Setting
The fabric is folded in the desired way, it is then heated in a controlled manner, allowed to cool down leaving it permenantly changed

Embossing
Engraved rollers press a relief pattern into the fabric

Shrinkage
Fabric is steamed and placed over a vibrating conveyor belt. Reduces the chances of it shrinking later on.

Mercerising
a solution is added to the fibres whilst they are stretched. This makes the cotton stronger, smoother and shinier.

Stain Resistance
a finish is applied to the fabric to stop the absorbtion of water or dirt. Scotchgard

Anti-Static
Chemicals are applied to the fabric to stop it from clinging and attracting dust.

Anti-Felting
A treatment softens the wool scales and stops them from pilling

Moth Proofing
Chemicals are applied to the fabric which makes them inedible to moths
