Brushing
Wire rollers brush the surface of the fabric. This gives fabric a napped surface and softer feel.

Engraved rollers press the surface of the fabric. Texture and appearance change due to pattern embossed

Pressing
Presses smooth the surface of the fabric - improved handle and smoother surface - often used on wool fabrics

Shrinkage
Fabric steamed and placed over a vibrating conveyor belt. Reduces further shrinkage later.

Shrink-resistance
fibre scales on wool are removed with chlorine, or resins block scales. Shrinkage is reduced.
