Presses smooth the surface of the fabric - improved handle and smoother surface - often used on wool fabrics

Shrinkage
Fabric steamed and placed over a vibrating conveyor belt. Reduces further shrinkage later.

fibre scales on wool are removed with chlorine, or resins block scales. Shrinkage is reduced.
