Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.
1 of 5
Sale of Goods Act
Products or services purchased must be ‘fit for purpose’ and of ‘satisfactory quality’. If it isn’t the buyer is entitled to a full refund. It is the seller – not the manufacturer that is responsible for this
2 of 5
Consumer Protection Act
If a person is injured as a result of a defective product, this law states that the injured party can claim compensation from the manufacturer of the product. They do of course have to prove it was the fault of the product and not their misuse of it.
3 of 5
The Trades Description Act
Traders are not allowed to make false or misleading statements about products or services you buy. By law you are entitled as a purchaser that the product you have bought does what they said it would do. Otherwise you can sue them.
4 of 5
Advertising Standards Authority
The ASA was set up to ensure that all advertising meets a code which states all adverts must be ‘legal, honest and truthful’. Otherwise adverts can be banned and the companies sued.
